Support & Advocacy for Children
We host weekly support groups for children aged 0-17 year old and provide one-on-one counseling for youth impacted by domestic abuse and sexual assault – See Counseling and Support Groups
We meet individually with children in our shelter and support groups to create safety plans and help identify their needs using age appropriate and trauma informed activities.
We partner with local school districts to help meet the needs of children within our shelter who are impacted by domestic abuse and sexual assault. Connecting them to school counselors, McKinney Vento programming, and incorporating school safety in their safety planning.
Child Abuse
If you have concerns that a child is being physically or sexually abused, neglected, or at risk of abuse or neglect, please call your county’s Department of Human Services Child Protective Services or law enforcement. Additionally, if you have an active family court case you can share your concerns of child abuse and/or neglect with the appropriate individuals involved in your case (your attorney, the Guardian ad Litem, the Judge or Court Commissioner).
